Does anyone else in New York have Hyperhidrosis?

Thats right... I'm starting this blog for purely selfish reasons. Suffering from Hyperhidrosis is painful and embarrassing and its not something you want to talk about with friends. An anonymous blog is my best chance of trying to find other suffers who understand what its like to be drenched with sweat at the sound of the weather man saying humidity is in the forecast. Trying to be a successful real estate agent with sweat running down my face, into my eyes, dripping off my chin, well... it just makes the whole "professional" thing a little difficult. As we are nearing the summer months, I am beginning to wonder if I need to take a break from my career (which I love by the way) just to avoid all the activity and hustling around the city to show apartments. Has it really come to this?

hey, I dont actually live in New York..or in America but I too suffer from Huperhidrosis. Im 17 and have been sweating for as long as I can remember. Im in high school which is awful as its full of people constantly judging you. Theres enough social stress without going through this. Iv tried various treatments without anyone knowing what I’m going through but none seem to work. Iv researched this thing called Odaban which is quite cheap and loads of people say it works so I'm trying it out. Im scared of trying new things because every time I get my hopes up that my problems will end but nothing ever seems to even reduce the sweating. Its my prom in a few weeks and all I want is to be able to dance without sweat running down my body and staining my perfect dress. Sorry, really went for a moan here! Its just I've never been able to fully talk about how I feel. You cant fully understand unless you have hyperhidrosis.

Oh yes... I remember high school all to well! My HH actually didn't become too bad until my twenties or so but I totally remember gym class and how i would get so sweaty and gross and only have 5 minutes to cool down before heading to science class. What a drag!

Have fun at prom!! You know... you dont really have to dance the whole time! Its perfectly acceptable just to go for the sake of dressing up, looking pretty, getting your hair done and having a guy buy you a corsage! Once you are there you can feel it out and decide if dancing is an option.

High school is hard and having HH is harder... you are in a tough spot and I TRULY know how you feel. And I know what you mean about the Odaban. I just ordered $200 worth of deodorants, wipes, pills and gels that supposedly reduce the sweating. I am trying not to get my hopes up... Keep checking my blog... once i get everything and start using them I'll be sure to fill everyone in.

Unfortunately we dont have the tradition of corsages..or dates for that matter. If your not dating anyone at the time then its going with your friends! :( I tried the odaban and it kind of works i guess..i was able to wear a white shirt without a jumped over it for the first time in years but as soon as im out with my friends or if im a little nervous then its the exact same. One day we'll find that perfect product! Apparently you can get Botox shots, you can get them on the NHS over here but not for very much longer. They last for like 6 months and they completely stop the sweating, with a 100% success rate. Pretty hard to get them though.Do you tell people about your HH? like your boyfriend and family etc?
